Everyone knows that taking a picture with your phone is the easiest way to document anything in front of you. The pictures themselves, however, can be difficult to share. The solution? Turning those pictures directly into PDFs.
The good news is that there are Android apps to turn pictures into PDF – like Xodo. In this post, we’ll show you how to turn a picture into a PDF on Android – including pictures in JPG, PNG, and even as screenshots. You’ll even get a few additional tips to work even better with the PDFs that contain your pictures.
So are you ready to take your pictures to the next level? Let’s dive in!
You can use the Xodo app as your image to PDF Android converter. The first thing to do is install the Xodo Android app.
You’ll have a few options depending on where your photo is located.
To instantly change a photo stored on your device, follow these steps:
1. Open the Xodo app and tap on Files at the bottom of the screen.
2. To quickly access your photos, tap on Photos > Gallery.
3. Browse for and tap on your photo to select it.
4. The photo will automatically be converted to a PDF and displayed on screen. The PDF is placed in your Processed Files folder as a PDF but can be moved to a different folder by tapping on Move in the dialog that pops up.
To convert a picture saved on your cloud drives on Android:
1. Open the Xodo app, tap on Files at the bottom of the screen and tap on Xodo Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
2. Browse for your photo and tap on it to open it.
3. Then tap on the Lightning Bolt icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen and select Image to PDF from the list. Alternatively, you can tap on the 3 dots beside the image file name. Tap on Continue with Actions > Image to PDF.
4. From here, you can select from either Reduce file size or Recognize text (OCR) from the Advanced options list if needed.
5. Tap on Convert. The PDF will be saved in the Processed Files folder.
The process for converting JPG pictures into PDF on Android for free is easy:
1. Open the Xodo app.
2. Tap on Files > Photos > Gallery.
3. Search for your picture and tap on it.
4. The photo will automatically be converted to a PDF and be displayed on screen. The PDF will be saved to the Processed Files folder as a PDF but tapping on Move in the dialog that pops up will let you choose a different location.
Pictures in the JPG format are perfect for creating brochures, presentations, or sharing image collections. The ease with which the app lets you save a JPG picture as a PDF makes Xodo the perfect go-to Android JPG to PDF converter. But that’s not all.
If you can convert JPGs with Xodo, can you convert PNG to PDF? Yes, you can. The default photo format on Android is .JPG, but you may have .PNG images on your cloud drives or attached to emails– all of which can be accessed from your device.
To convert PNG to PDF on your Android device:
1. Go into the Xodo app and tap on Files.
2. Locate your PNG file from any of the folders listed and tap on it.
3. Then tap on the Lightning Bolt icon at the top and tap on the Image to PDF tool.
4. Select whether to Save to Xodo Drive or your device by default and tap on Convert. Your PDF will then be saved in the Processed Files folder.
PNGs are ideal for graphics, charts, or illustrations that can be used on the web. With Xodo also being available online, you can convert PNG to PDF online free for an easy way to assemble statistic reports, portfolios, or branded material.
Sometimes the pictures you have may be screenshots of your device’s screen. You can turn these screenshots into PDF files, as well. Here's how:
First take a screenshot on your Android phone by pressing the power button and the volume down button at the same time. Once you’ve captured the screenshot:
1. Open the Xodo app.
2. Tap on Files > Photos > Gallery.
3. In your Gallery, tap on Albums from the bottom of the screen.
4. Go to your Screenshots album.
5. Locate the image and tap on it. Xodo will instantly start the conversion process and display the screenshot in the Xodo interface. The file will then be saved in your Processed Files folder.
On top of turning your pictures to PDF, Xodo lets you accomplish other tasks with the PDFs you just created.
Prefer to get your images all into one PDF? You can use Xodo’s Merge Pages tool. All it requires is a few taps to consolidate all your images and pictures together.
Go to the Xodo app and follow these steps:
1. Select your image from your cloud drive.
2. Tap on the Lightning Bolt icon in the toolbar.
3. Select the Merge Pages tool.
4. Tap to select the images you want to combine or tap on Add Files to select picture files that aren’t listed. If some of your photos have already been converted into a PDF, you can select the .PDF file to include it into the PDF.
5. Tap on Next.
6. Reorder your pictures and PDFs as desired by tapping on the handles and dragging the pictures where you want them.
7. Tap on Merge. Your image files will then be merged into a single PDF that will be displayed in your Processed Files folder.
Merging multiple pictures together can be handy if you need to stitch JPG and PNG photos together. It’s also a great workaround if you need the functionality of a PNG combiner tool but don’t want to install another app.
When you’re looking to turn your photo into a PDF, you’re undoubtedly looking to share or repurpose the image for a collaborative project down the line. You can instantly share your PDFs with others directly from the Xodo app.
1. Go into the Xodo app and tap on Files.
2. Go to your Processed Files or Xodo Drive folder and locate the PDF that contains your images.
3. Tap on the file to open it.
4. With your PDF opened in the Xodo app, click on the 3 vertical dots from the toolbar at the top.
5. Tap on Share and choose the app you want to use and start setting up your file according to the app’s share function.
The best part about working with Xodo Drive is that you can access those PDFs from anywhere. So no matter what device you continue your work on, you can easily access those PDFs and share them from wherever you are.
Turning your pictures into shareable PDFs right from your Android device can be a quick and simple task. With the free methods we’ve shown you above, your mobile workflow can be just as robust and versatile as your desktop workflow.
And this is because Xodo isn't just an app. It's the key to building an efficient mobile document management system. With over 30 PDF tools that span across desktop, online and mobile platforms, Xodo is your number one suite of tools to turn to.
